In our laboratories we have state-of-the-art equipment to investigate materials. This can be done as part of a failure analysis or corrosion testing but also in the context of other investigations.

Beside the techniques below METALogic can offer more sophisticated techniques if needed through cooperation with, among others, the Department of Metallurgy and Applied Materials Science of the Catholic University of Leuven.

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM)

Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) yields other contrast and allows for higher magnifications with regard to light optical microscopy. Moreover our scanning electron microscope is equipped with a [...]

Microstructural examination

To examine the microstructure of a material, metallographic samples are made from a piece or part to perform light optical examination or scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The preparation of [...]

Material analysis

METALogic can perform material analysis for qualification purposes or due to uncertainty or ignorance about the used alloy. Knowing the used material is the starting point for a study about [...]

Hardness measurements

Based on MicroVickers hardness measurements local hardness and thus a hardness profile can be determined. This is e.g. relevant in investigating surface hardening, in failure analyses, check heat [...]

Analysis deposits and corrosion products

Knowing the composition of deposits or corrosion products helps to find the cause of the deposition or the corrosion process. Typically a SEM-EDX analysis is performed, which is a [...]
